Now diseases like Motion Sickness, Angina Pectoris, Hypertension, etc. can be treated with the help of a cell.
Dr G.S. Dhillon, Head of the University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) has developed a diffusion cell, in collaboration
with electronic, mechanical and glass blowing sections for studying transdermal drug delivery formulations.
Talking about his discovery, Dr Dhillon said, “Diffusion Cell is efficient to screening typically applied
formulations for penetration across the skin which are used to treat diseases like Hypertension, Motion Sickness, etc.”
And what makes this apparatus special is its cost. While in the U.S.A. and Europe it costs between Rs four to five lakhs,
our apparatus is priced at about Rs 25,000.
